What you say in recruiting has to match what happens at the desk. And you cannot pull the rug out from under someone who joined on the strength of the policy.

Examples

Compliant The careers page, the handbook and daily reality all say the same thing, and any change is announced with notice.
Not compliant 'Dog friendly!' on the careers page, but the actual policy is restrictive and changes without warning.
