Under the Roch Dog Friendly Standard for hospitality, a provider is either Certified or Not Assessed. Certified means the provider has been assessed and awarded a grade from A+ to F; every hotel Roch Dog assesses is certified, and a hotel that misses one or more minimum requirements is not refused certification but has its grade capped at C. Not Assessed means the provider has not submitted to or completed an assessment, and is the default state, carrying no implication about a provider's dog friendliness or lack of it. The sibling Residence and Workplace standards, which are assessed pass or fail, add a third status, Not Certified, for a provider assessed and found not to meet their requirements.
