Definition

The conditions a dog needs to spend the working day safely and well, drawn from the Five Domains of animal welfare.

Part of the Roch Dog Workplace Standard (RDWS-01) · Published by Roch Dog

The conditions, within the employer's control, that a dog needs to spend the working day safely and well: water and a place to settle, a safe physical environment, relief and exercise, breaks and natural behaviour, and relief from stress.

Built on the Five Domains of animal welfare recognised in welfare science. The employer shapes the domains within its control; the dog's feeding and veterinary care remain the owner's responsibility.

Roch Interpretation

A dog is not office furniture. The working day has to work for the dog, not just for the human who brought it.
