Co-Worker Protection

The standard's third pillar: protecting colleagues who cannot, or choose not to, share workspace with a dog.

Definition

The standard's third pillar: protecting colleagues who cannot, or choose not to, share workspace with a dog.

Part of the Roch Dog Workplace Standard (RDWS-01) · Published by Roch Dog

The pillar that protects the people a dog policy can otherwise overrun: colleagues who are allergic, asthmatic, frightened of dogs, or who for medical, religious or comparable reasons cannot share space with one.

It is the pillar a home does not need, because a workplace is shared. The provision a workplace makes for dogs must never come at the cost of the colleagues around them.

Roch Interpretation

This is the part most 'dog friendly office' programmes skip entirely, and it is the part that makes a workplace policy trustworthy and durable.
